BLC Showcase

The BLC students have been enjoying inquiring into communities and are busy preparing to showcase their learning on Wednesday 16th June. Our Showcase will be held up in our classrooms and in the Junior Primary area outside our rooms. Our community showcase will be focusing on our learning about Communities and will be showcasing our learning of some Mathematics and Literacy as well.

Reconciliation Week Celebration

Reconciliation Celebration Day – Monday 31st May 2021

Parents Welcome!

To commemorate Reconciliation Week and to launch the St Michael’s Reconciliation Action Plan, we are holding a whole school event to celebrate.

First Nations Artist and performer, David Booth will be working with us to share the culture, history and significant customs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples.

The day will begin at 9am with an Acknowledgment of Country, to be held in Bukatila (gym).

During the day all student will be involved in workshops with David and his family.  When not in workshops, students will be involved in a smorgasbord of learning activities throughout the day, designed to support the development of pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples history and culture.

With the help of our Class Carers, we will be providing a free sausage sizzle at lunchtime.  Gluten free options will be available.  (Please talk to your child’s teacher if your child has dietary needs that we are not aware of.)  Your child may still want to bring additional food for lunch, if a sausage is not enough for them.

The day will conclude at 2.40pm with a closing ceremony filled with dance and music.
