The final week for the term is fast approaching. Here is some information to keep you on top of things:

Tuesday 26th June

The BLC classes will be having a visit from some Police officers to talk to us about keeping safe in the community and the role of Police officers. This ties in with our work this term on how we can keep ourselves safe. The visit will include having a look at a Police car and Motorbike! A very big thank you to Nancy Johns (Thomas Johns in the Super Stars’ room) for helping to organise this.

As mentioned in our previous post this day is also ‘Team Colours’ day where students come to school in their favourite sport team’s colours.

Friday 29th June

End of Term 2 Important Dates

Hi Everyone,

The BLC students are very excited to share their UOI work with you at Showcase tomorrow night. Please remember we are up in the JP area outside our classrooms.

In preparation for concert next term, we have begun practicing our songs and organising our costumes. The students were also given an opportunity to express their interest in having an individual speaking part. If your child opted for this, then their lines will be coming home soon in their communication book to practice at home. When your child is practicing their line can you please encourage them to remember it off by heart and say it clearly with expression.

If you have not sent in your child’s costume we will need them by the end of this week.

Saturday 23rd June

On Saturday night the P&F are holding a movie night and will be screening Despicable Me 3.

BLC Showcase and Uniform

BLC Showcase

The BLC students have been enjoying inquiring into visual arts and are busy preparing to showcase their learning on Thursday 21st June. Our Showcase will be held up in our classrooms and in the Junior Primary area outside our rooms. Our community showcase replaces the Student Led Conferences of previous years, and focuses on our current unit of inquiry, rather than a variety of curriculum areas. The showcase sessions start at 4 p.m. and each session will go for half an hour. The time slots will be:

4:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

4:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

5:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

You should have already received an email explaining how to book a time that suits you best. If you have not received this email, or you need help booking a time; please see Lee-Anne in the Front Office.

Please note, that you the online bookings will be available from Friday 8th June.

Please note that the Junior Learning Community Showcase is on the same night. If you have a child in JLC, you will need to book this separately using the links the JLC teachers have provided for you. Thank you.

Concert Costumes

If you haven’t already done so, can you please bring in your child’s costume.

School Uniform

Winter is here and so all students should now be wearing winter uniform.  As a reminder, boys should now be wearing long pants only with their formal uniform, and girls their full winter uniform with the option of long pants.  On Sport Uniform days, students have the choice of wearing shorts or school track pants.

Scarves may be worn but must be navy or white in colour and all jackets must be school navy only.  A St Michael’s logo jacket is available for purchase from the Uniform Shop.

Please refer to the Uniform Policy on the school website for further details.

Can you help?

Hi everyone,

This week the BLC students will be exploring capacity in Mathematics as well as inquiring into ‘recycled art’ during our UOI time. To support the students in these activities we would love it if you could bring in any plastic containers or bottles to school. It would be appreciated if they were at school by Thursday.

Thanks for your help!
